Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will join global civil society actors and feminist leaders on 10 March 2026 for a webinar titled “What Comes Next? Feminist Reflections on the UN Tax Convention After the Fourth Session.” The event forms part of ongoing feminist engagements during Women’s Month.
The webinar will provide an opportunity to reflect on the outcomes of the Fourth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation (UNFCITC).
The session will examine the implications of the negotiations from a decolonial Pan-African feminist perspective, exploring how the emerging global tax framework can contribute to addressing systemic inequalities while advancing gender justice.

The session will review the key outcomes of the fourth INC session and evaluate the gender justice implications of the draft articles and protocols under negotiation. It will also create space to strategise on priority demands for Africa, identify opportunities to influence the process as negotiations develop, and consider how the convention can enhance fiscal sovereignty and ensure equitable resource mobilisation.
Speakers will also discuss Akina Mama wa Afrika’s policy brief, “Feminist Pathways Toward a Fairer Global Tax Order: Feminist Demands for the UNFCITC,” which outlines key proposals to ensure that the emerging global tax framework supports gender-responsive public policies and a fairer distribution of resources.
This session is part of a series of coordinated feminist actions during Women’s Month, aligned with International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.” It also contributes to the 10th Global Days of Action under the call “Tax Justice for the Human Right to Care.”
By contributing to this discussion, TJNA aims to emphasise the connection between tax justice, gender equality, and sustainable development, and to support efforts to create a global tax framework that prioritises equity, accountability, and the needs of communities across Africa.
