Tax, Natural Resource Governance and Climate Finance

TJNA focuses on improving tax and natural resource governance in Africa, advocating for transparency, accountability, and fair revenue-sharing in extractive industries. We call for stronger tax policies to combat tax evasion and illicit financial flows (IFFs), support the domestication of the Africa Mining Vision (AMV), and back the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) to enforce disclosures and reduce corruption.

TJNA also prioritises tax justice for climate and energy issues, calling for policies that incentivize sustainability and ensure fair climate finance. We advocate for redirecting fossil fuel subsidies to renewable energy, strengthening tax governance, and ensuring multinational corporations contribute fairly to Africa’s clean energy transition. Our work aims to support a just energy transition while promoting economic growth and climate resilience.
