Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will spotlight the urgent need for bold reforms in energy financing at the Future of Energy conference in Accra, Ghana, on August 26, 2025.

Organised under the theme ‘Diversifying Investment Options for Africa’s Energy Future,’ the conference will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society to explore innovative financing solutions that can drive an inclusive, just, and sustainable energy transition across Africa.

This discussion, organised by Global Witness and Recourse, seeks to identify practical options, and map out actions that can make diversification a reality. This event explores the need for financing models that support fair, inclusive, and sustainable economic, just energy transitions.

Supporting a just energy transition in emerging and developing economies across the African continent requires not only large-scale capital for infrastructure such as industrialisation and renewable energy but also targeted financing for communities and small businesses. This conversation will explore why capital investments must be aligned with both risk and impact to meaningfully advance climate action, justice, and inclusive economic growth.

TJNA will participate as follows.
