ATAF Annual Meetings

Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will participate in the 2026 Annual Meetings and Technical Conference of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), taking place from 1–5 November 2026 in Cairo, Egypt. Held under the theme “The Revenue Imperative: Africa’s Path to Financing Its Own Development,” the meetings will provide a platform for advancing discussions on domestic resource mobilisation, illicit financial flows, debt sustainability, international tax cooperation and Africa’s fiscal sovereignty.

Hosted by the Egyptian Tax Authority under the Ministry of Finance of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the meetings will bring together African tax administrators, policymakers, development partners, regional institutions, civil society organisations and technical experts to examine practical approaches to strengthening revenue mobilisation and translating global financing commitments into tangible outcomes for Africa.

TJNA will contribute to discussions on tackling illicit financial flows, expanding fiscal space and advancing equitable taxation, while advocating for reforms that strengthen Africa’s voice in international tax governance and promote a fairer, more inclusive global tax system.
